Amazing Frigate Bird Truly Magnificent

Here are a few photos of a pirate bird, no Jack Sparrow, flying over my boat today while touring the Lower Laguna Madre. As I photographed the one getting blacker plumage I exclaimed, this one is going to be a male. The two teenage boys on the boat, looking up at them asked, what do you mean going to be? That was not the right way to put it, was it! We had a good laugh and I corrected that this bird is about to become an adult male. The other an adult female, so they are about four to five years old this summer and are probably siblings. They came so low over the boat looking for food to steal from the Terns and Gulls flying nearby bay shrimpers throwing off by catch. Look them up Magnificent Frigate Bird... Splotches and her baby Heaven came around the boat some but were resting so we left them to their naps.

Bowriding and more

Here is a funny bird we saw on our way out to our dolphins. Can you guess what it is? The dolphins came to play with us and then Nicki and Angel and the other males jumped on a ship coming in and had some fun bowriding. July is almost over now and the sealife center has been busy. We are outgrowing our building! Yesterday it rained so there were many folks seeking indoor activities. The nature center was packed. Hopefully we reached many with our message of becoming eco friendly tourists.

Dolphin photos

Here are some photos of Rozzi the dolphin dog and families saying I do believe in dolphins

Dolphins in July

Clear water in the bay has made the dolphins happy and gives them an opportunity to see us without spy hopping. They come as close as they can to the boat and turn side ways to look at us and of course the dolphin dogs. They are having fun with us and come to our joyous calls. They love that we are interacting with them and sharing the emotions of joy with them. I can take folks out to my dolphins but they are the ones that create the energy of the interaction with our dolphins. The most joyful and magical trips are with the people that can say , I do believe in Dolphins! Then the magic begins...
